The Name
Our name is an evocation of different meanings from the philosophical question - if a tree falls in the woods and nobody hears it, does it make a sound?From this we take:
- the role of the observer valuing everything we do
- the metaphor of a particular tree, a common Computer Science ADT, amidst a multitude of other such trees, to represent working at a singular point with the information flowing through the internet
- an idea of design inspired by natural objects and ecosystems
- the spirit of intellectual enquiry
